Overview

Sodium benzoate is an agent that can inhibit grow of yeast, molds, and bacteria in an acidic environment. It remains stable in its dry form, and has activity through a relatively low pH range (pH2.5–4.0). Commonly used in animal feed to inhibit spoilage and prolong shelf life.

Specificity: White crystalline granule or powder; Odorless or with little benzoin smell. stable in air. Highly soluble in water(53.0g/100ml,25℃). Soluble in ethanol (1.4g/100ml).

Sodium Bnezoate is a white crystalline grain or powder. It is widely used for food preservative produced by reaction from sodium hydroxide with benzoic acid. Sodium Benzoate is a better molds and yeasts inhibitor and since acidity foods grow bacteria, mold and yeast quickly, it is cheapest way to preserve them.
